Things seem to be going well between Jacob and Amy in Coronation Street – but some fans of the ITV soap opera have noticed that Jacob seems to be developing a strong bond with Summer.
The young lovers recently moved in with Summer and her boyfriend Aaron at a time when Summer needs support more than ever to help her through her pregnancy.
Jacob was happy to be there for the summer and support her when she needed it, and he’s one of the few people out there who knows she’s pregnant.

He’s on hand to replace her on several occasions, such as when she struggled with morning sickness while working at Underworld.
But are Jacob and Summer just good friends – or is there something in the fan theory that an already complicated situation could get even more complicated?
Jack James Ryan, who plays Jacob, has shared his thoughts – and fans of his relationship with Amy might not have to worry after all.
“It was so refreshing to develop Jacob and Summer’s friendship on the show,” Jack said while discussing the fan theory on Twitter.

There’s a sad twist of events in Summer’s story that will unfold this week, as she has a miscarriage – and there’s more shocking news for her and Aaron, as they learn that her alcoholic father, Eric , relapsed.
