Emmerdale launches Hollyoaks and Home and Away star Kyle Pryor

Emmerdale fans will see a familiar face from the soap world appear next week, as Kyle Pryor takes on a guest role.

the old Hollyoaks and At home and away The actor landed the role of Darren, who gets involved in acting at the Woolpack.

In future episodes, Will Taylor is impressed when he sees Vinny Dingle beat Jimmy King in a casual game of poker.

Will suggests the pair should join him for a higher stakes game at the pub, and it’s not long before some of the other villagers get involved as well.

Ryan Stocks, David Metcalfe and Mackenzie Boyd all join the original trio.

Stylish charmer Darren then arrives at the pub and also shows an interest in gambling, but is it only a matter of time before Vinny’s sudden interest in poker spirals out of control?

Kyle previously starred as Doctor Nate Cooper on At home and away between 2013 and 2017.

Reflecting on his release from Summer Bay in 2017, Kyle told Australian magazine TV week: “I was an awkward mess. But it was a good time to go.

“People I started out with, like Charlie [Clausen] and Isabella [Giovinazzo] was gone.

“It’s about moving forward and seeing what the future holds. I miss it. It was such a life-changing experience.”

In 2018, Kyle was cast as the villainous Laurie Shelby in Hollyoaks and played the villain for almost a year.

In 2020, it returns to Hollyoaks as a doppelganger for some scenes with real life partner Anna Passey (Sienna Blake) when the show was operating under social distancing guidelines.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1 and airs on ITVX.
