Emmerdale Star Ash Palmisciano opened up about the sad loss of his mother earlier this year.
The actor, who plays Matty Barton in the ITV soap, lost his mother to rheumatoid arthritis in May, aged 60.
Ash called his mother “a real inspiration” to the family and said she was also a fantastic nan.

“Poor Matty had a hard time Emmerdalebut there was always so much love in my family home and mum was the most important person in my life,” he said. The mirror.
“Grief is such an uncontrollable beast and you’re not prepared for it. We don’t talk about loss and it’s something we will all face in our lives. It’s been a terrible year and I find it difficult. “
He said his mother had a brave face despite her illness.
“Mom was so strong and so brave. She was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis when she was 29, but suffered from it in secret because she wanted to fill our lives with positivity.
“She was very glamorous, worked, took care of school and always checked in with me and my sister to make sure we were okay.

“She was a miracle because she had so many health issues in her life from its effects – and despite her health battles, she was brave and dignified until the end.”
He hopes to make the holiday season a happy time, even if it’s the first Christmas without his mother.
“I’m sure we’ll all have our moments. But we want to recreate her incredible spirit and energy for her two grandchildren, because she was a fantastic nanny.
“We want it to be fun for them – and if she watches, we hope she’s impressed.”
