Friends Fans Notice Monica’s Mistake In Classic Episode

Friends is the gift that keeps on giving, especially when fans find mistakes and errors all these years later.

With eagle eyes Friends fans discovered a goof from Courtney Cox’s character, Monica Geller, in arguably one of the show’s best episodes – “The One With The Embryos.”

In the episode, Monica and Rachel, and Chandler and Joey, face off in a battle over which pair knows the other best. As the game progresses, the stakes increase until Monica’s apartment is the prize.

On a Friends Reddit thread, the fan noticed an error in the dialogue after the girls lost the apartment, and it looks like we all missed it.

“Right after the guys won the quiz when Rachel refuses to budge, Monica says ‘If we had lost, we would have made them get rid of the birds, right?

“That doesn’t make sense. They lost. She was probably meant to say ‘if they lost’ or ‘if we won’, right?”

Another fan added: “I had to stop what I was doing immediately and go check it out. Yeah the actual dialogue spoken by Monica and the subtitles say ‘if we lost’. I can’t believe the editors didn’t get it!”

The main cast – Matthew Perry, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer – all reunited for an HBO reunion show last year that was an absolute hit with fans.

However, according to Cox, it will be the last.

“I don’t feel like I’ve closed the door… [but] we’re not going to do another meeting,” Cox told Faith Hill for Varietyfrom the series Actors on Actors. “Can you imagine? We’re like, ‘We’re 80! Let’s go home!'”

Friends streamed on Netflix in the UK, where it also airs daily on Comedy Central. In the United States, you can stream the show on HBO Max.
