Good Omens’ Michael Sheen stars in first look at Channel 4’s Vardy V Rooney: A Courtroom Drama

Michael Sheen appears in the first images of a new docudrama Vardy versus Rooney: a legal drama.

Inspired by the ‘Wagatha Christie’ libel case brought by Rebekah Vardy against fellow WAG Coleen Rooney, the Channel 4 series will see the good omens play the role of Rooney’s lawyer, David Sherborne.

The lawsuit stemmed from Rooney’s 2019 Instagram post in which she accused Vardy of leaking her private Instagram Stories to the press. Vardy denied the allegations and sued Rooney for defamation, but ultimately lost the case.

“The #WagathaChristie phenomenon has become one of the most talked about moments in social media history,” added Chalkboard Creative Director Tom Popay. “We are thrilled to bring the trial to life in such a unique way and hope that we can experience how this case has fascinated and amazed so many people.”
