Governors Awards 2022 Menswear

Greg Tarzan Davis in Brioni

Here’s a look at the men’s looks from the 2022 Governors Awards, which took place Saturday, Nov. 19, in Los Angeles.

I have to start with the look that immediately caught my eye and was Greg Tarzan Davis.

If you thought his love of flamboyant styles and colors was limited to his “Top Gun: Maverick” promotional tour, you were wrong.

Greg kept the same energy wearing a flamingo pink satin lapel suit from Brioni.

Besides liking it for the color, the blazer is good, but apparently those quads can’t be contained.

Celebrity stylist Jason Rembert must have so much fun working with Greg.

Luca Guadagnino in Loewe

Director “Bones & All” Luca Guadagninopictured alongside Loewe’s creative director, Jonathan Anderson, was one of my favorites of the evening.

As we all know, Luca is very loyal to Loewe, and for this event he wore a tailored dress Loewe midnight blue with a red silk shantung shirt and matching scarf.

As much as I love on-trend menswear looks, I love how Luca continues to present classic styles with a twist.

Aldis Hodge in Waraire

A silk wrap shirt? On Aldis Hodge? *I type from beyond*

The ‘Black Adam’ star looked as sharp and beautiful as ever wearing a custom waraire suit.

Austin Butler in Saint-Laurent

I mean, do we really pay attention to the adaptation of Saint Laurent by Austin Butler suit considering he forgot to button his shirt?

Jeremy Pope in Alexander McQueen & Dries van Noten

Trust Jeremy Pope to serve up something classic with a twist wearing a Alexander McQueen black satin suit with metallic gold Dries van Noten turtleneck.

Famous stylist Ugo Mozie always gets Jeremy killed at these events.

Joe Alwyn in Celine Homme

Double-breasted is a traditional feature that seems to be making a comeback in contemporary suits, and Celine Homme by Joe Alwyn the suit highlights it against the background of a refined shirt without a bright white tie.

Am I the only one watching Paul Mescal in this Prada double-breasted suit and the feeling that it is too big for him?

Danny Ramirez in Dolce & Gabbana

If you’re looking for a tonal look in something other than black, Danny Ramirez is your man.

The ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ actor walked the red carpet wearing a luxurious burgundy tuxedo with shawl lapels from Dolce & Gabbana.

I love how the silk satin detailing keeps it from feeling flat.

Colin Farrell in Dior Homme

I will never be. I repeat NEVER, I get tired of seeing Colin Farrel wearing a classic tuxedo.

I don’t know who styles, grooms and sizes his costumes, but as a team they make a heavenly match because they never fail.

The Irish actor looked as flawless as ever wearing a Dior for men collectible look.

Those silk shawl lapels are sending me overboard. I am impressed. This is perfection.

Colin posed alongside his ‘The Banshees of Inisherin’ co-star Brendan Gleeson.

Taron Egerton in Brunello Cucinelli

Taron Egerton always presents a look that marries classic and modern.

On this occasion, he looked very James Bond-esque wearing a dove-colored dress Brunello Cucinelli jacket with black pants.

Glen Powell at Brioni

This Brioni the navy blue tuxedo was a classic Glen Powell see.
