A gunman shot and killed a young woman and injured several others after catching fire in a pub car park.
Police today launched a murder investigation into the incident in Wallasey, Merseyside, last night.
Merseyside Police said officers were called to the Lighthouse Inn at around 11.50pm on Christmas Eve following reports of gunshots.
A young woman was taken to hospital with an injury consistent with a gunshot wound and later died, police said.
Three men were also taken to hospital with gunshot wounds and a number of others were injured in the incident.
Photos from the scene show a number of drinks still on tables and TVs still on inside the pub as terrified drinkers dropped everything to flee the scene.

Detective Superintendent David McCaughrean said: “This investigation is in the very early stages and we understand that this is a truly shocking and devastating incident which took place just before Christmas Day at a very frequented filled with young people.”
“We have a number of officers in Wallasey Village who are carrying out thorough investigations to understand exactly what happened and take immediate action.
“A woman tragically lost her life over Christmas while several people are being treated in hospital and our thoughts and condolences go out to the family of the victim.
‘I would ask anyone who was in the Wallasey Village Lighthouse last night who witnessed the incident or has mobile or CCTV footage of what happened to contact us urgently as they may have vital information for our investigation.
“We believe the shooter left the pub car park in a dark colored vehicle – possibly a dark colored Mercedes shortly after the shooting and would like anyone who saw him to contact us immediately.”
