Hollyoaks’ Juliet Nightingale to reveal truth about cancer diagnosis in Christmas episodes

It’s been a tough time for Juliet Nightingale on Hollyoaks lately, and it’s about to get more emotional for her over Christmas time.

In last week’s episodes, Juliette was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and the time has come for her to come clean to her close friends.

In scenes that will air from Monday (December 19), Juliette will undergo her first chemotherapy treatment, but she is initially reluctant to divulge her news to friends and family.

Juliet being conflicted over her feelings for Nadira and Peri, she tells each that she plans to fix things with the other.

On Christmas Day, Nadira and Peri are eager to find out why Juliette lied to them, causing tension in the village.

Knowing that she must tell them the truth, Juliette arranges a meeting with Peri, but Nadira arrives and argues with the latter.

With a cacophony of noise surrounding her, Juliet blurts out her diagnosis, leaving the pair to quarrel at first dumbfounded.

Peri, however, doesn’t believe a word of it, accusing Juliette of lying before angrily running off. Nadira is much more understanding, offering to support Juliette in this delicate period.

Enlisting James’ help, Nadira urges Juliette to confess to her mother, but she’s not sure if she wants to share the news at the Christmas table….

Actress Niamh Blackshaw recently spoke about Juliet’s arc, saying she was “grateful and thankful” for the response to the script.

“There was a massive response – I was really surprised and taken aback,” she said. “Sometimes you forget how much fans love the characters. I was happy to get such a great response, and I’m really excited to see how it all pans out.

Hollyoaks airs first on All 4, with new episodes dropping every weekday morning. The show airs Monday to Friday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 7pm on E4.
