It’s officially bowling season and that means laying down in front of the TV watching a few teams you haven’t watched for a second all season. Things started on Friday with the Bahamas Bowl and the Cure Bowl.
Both games featured teams only fans and hardcore gamers know about. On Saturday, there were six more bowling games with more recognizable teams on the field.
I have to be honest, I didn’t see much of the action on Saturday. This is mainly due to the fact that at this time of year we have NFL games on Saturdays. The ones I watched.
Saturday NFL games are back!
That’s right. We can smell the playoffs when Saturday’s NFL games return and there were a few games that had playoff implications on the schedule.
The Vikings and Bills both clinched a playoff berth in two of the most entertaining games of the season. Technically, the Ravens and Browns game had playoff implications, but with Lamar Jackson out of the roster, Baltimore didn’t have much of a fight.
The fights took place in Colts-Vikings and Dolphins-Bills games. First to action in Minnesota. In the first half, it looked like Primetime Kirk Cousins was going to blow another game. That was until the NFL gods realized Matt Ryan was the Colts quarterback.
After Ryan and the Colts took a 33-0 lead in the second half, it all started to fall apart. They only managed three points in the second half as the Vikings put on an incredible comeback.
By the end of regulation, the game was tied at 36. By the end of overtime, Matt Ryan’s name was in the record books for being on the wrong end of the greatest comeback in NFL history. No one blows like Matt Ryan and don’t forget that.
Bills Mafia took advantage of the snow
As if the return of the Vikings wasn’t enough for one day, the Dolphins and Bills had something in store for fans as the team played in the middle of a snowstorm.
With several inches of snow covering the stands before kick-off, it was only a matter of time before the snowballs started flying. It’s the Bills Mafia after all. They see snow and make snowballs to throw.
Bills fans threw so many snowballs at the Dolphins bench that the game had to be temporarily delayed. It was announced that the Bills would be penalized if the snowballs continued.
Fans dulled the snowballs enough to get through the game. And what a game it was.
Things between the two AFC East rivals heated up as the Bills made their comeback in the fourth quarter. A comeback that ended with a winning placement in the snow to secure their fourth straight playoff appearance.
