Jimmy Choo’s Mayfair-based JCA | The London Fashion Academy has opened a new campus and creative space focused on design and artisan craftsmanship in Brentford, west London.

Located in Boston Manor House, the new campus houses workshops and design studios with specialized manufacturing tools, focusing on craft, design and prop making. The campus will also offer co-working spaces and event spaces that will be open to the public for arts and crafts markets.

Following its “imagine, create, inspire” strategy, JCA aims to make its Brentford campus a key destination for arts and crafts, committed to building a community of designers “from schools to artisans and industry professionals. internationally famous”.

This will be achieved through a subscription model that follows in the footsteps of JCA I London Fashion Academy’s incubator approach by providing coworking studio spaces to help the next generation of designers create products and market them under the guidance of industry specialists.

JCA Opens Creativity Center at Boston Manor House, Brentford

The campus will support artists, designers and creative professionals by providing space for the essential production of textiles, leather goods, carpentry, resins, metals and gemstones. There will also be a training and mentorship offering, as well as accredited short courses, all focused on helping emerging innovators develop the skills needed to turn their passion into a scalable and sustainable business.

In a statement, JCA added that it aims to create “progressive long-term socio-economic impact on the local Brentford community”. For the first five years of the project, it plans to support a minimum of 250 people by working directly with the Council and local creative groups to assess facilities once creators reach the enterprise stage and seek to develop their own business models.

The JCA | The London Fashion Academy opened in Mayfair, London, in September 2021 to offer a “new and transformative vision of higher fashion education”. Using its incubator model, the Academy trains students to become emerging professional designers with a program curated by Jimmy Choo about his experiences creating his own luxury brand.
