magic mike returns with a third film, titled Magic Mike’s Last Danceand director Steven Soderbergh wants to make sure the final dance in question is one we won’t soon forget.
How? By making it last half an hour.
Talk to Empire about the revival of the series after 2015 Magic Mike XXLthe filmmaker said: “We wanted to blast dance big.
“We have this dance number with Channing [Tatum] and Salma [Hayek] just in front of. And then the last 30 minutes of the movie is just this giant dance sequence.

“My job is how do I differentiate each of them? I can’t shoot them all the same way, I have to come up with a different approach to each dance. And that was really the challenge.”
He explained that filming the sequence at the Clapham Grand Theater in London actually helped, as the location allowed him to shoot the sequence from a multitude of different angles.
Reflecting on the evolution of the series as a whole, Soderbergh said the original was a fairly straightforward look at people in this industry, while the second focused on “what women are looking for on a night out at the in which fantasies and sexuality are explored…in an environment where things like permission and consent are front and center.”
