Manchester United legend Paul Scholes doesn’t seem upset by Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure.
The Portuguese striker, 37, has left Old Trafford by mutual consent after tearing up the final seven months of his £16m deal.
This follows his explosive interview with Piers Morgan last week when he criticized the club, the Glazers, manager Erik ten Hag and his teammates.
Paul Scholes appeared to support Manchester United’s decision to part ways with Cristiano Ronaldo
United announced Ronaldo left with immediate effect on Tuesday and Scholes was not complimentary when reacting to the news on social media.
In an Instagram Story post, which now appears to have been deleted, Scholes wrote, “Mission accomplished…a***d!
Ronaldo’s exit has been mutually agreed, but Sportsmail can reveal United have not paid any compensation for the remaining seven months of his £500,000-a-week contract at Old Trafford.
United’s lawyers have been looking to tear it up ever since Ronaldo’s explosive interview with Piers Morgan aired in two parts last week.
Manchester United announced that Ronaldo had left with immediate effect on Tuesday evening
A terse statement released on Tuesday evening read: “Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect.”
“The club thanks him for his immense contribution over two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishes him and his family well for the future.”
“Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the team’s progress under Erik ten Hag and working together to achieve success on the pitch.”

Ronaldo released his own statement after the news, writing: “Following conversations with Manchester United, we have mutually agreed to end our contract early.”
“I love Manchester United and I love the fans, that will never change. However, it seems like the time has come for me to look for a new challenge.
“I wish the team every success for the rest of the season and for the future.”
