Neighbors legend Stefan Dennis calls for Paul’s mean scenes in reboot

Neighbors legend Stefan Dennis has called for his character to fall back into his villainous ways in the soap opera’s planned reboot.

Dennis plays cold-hearted and ruthless former businessman Paul Robinson on the Australian soap opera.

The actor appeared on loose women Tuesday (November 30) where he was asked about the possibility of his character returning to his dastardly roots.

“I sure hope so,” Dennis replied.

“There was a very well-known period in Paul’s life when he had a brain tumour. He came back and he was Mr. Squeaky Clean and adorable. And the public hated it!”

Dennis said fans would come up to him and beg Paul to get his hands dirty again.

“I kept getting accosted on the street by people asking when he’d be the bad guy again. So I had to convince the producers because they just thought it was me who always wanted to play the bad guy. .

“So hopefully he will be. Jason [Herbison, executive producer] I made some noise and said maybe it wasn’t, but I said, “You can’t do that to Paul!” “”

The soap opera star then revealed that he was one of the few people who heard about the soap opera’s unexpected revival before anyone else.

Ryan Moloney (Toadie), Alan Fletcher (Karl), Jackie Woodburne (Susan) and Dennis all learned the news before the announcement.

“We found out about a week before everyone else because Jason decided to come to our house and tell us everything personally,” he continued.

“I was pretty much moved on. People were treating it like someone was dead. People were asking me if I was okay.”

Little is currently known about what the long-running soap’s return might look like.

Maloney recently spoke to TV week on the surprising reprieve and shared what he believes Neighbors will be like when he comes back.

“Actually, we don’t know if the show picks up from now or in a few years,” he revealed.

“It’s a redo. It’s a chance to do things differently. We are lucky to have this opportunity.”

Neighbors returns in the second half of 2023 with new episodes streaming for free on Amazon Freevee in the UK and US. Network 10 will retain the Australian first-run rights for the new series.
