Carmelo Hayes is set to compete in NXT’s first-ever Iron Survivor Challenge at Deadline on Saturday, December 10, with the winner of the five-man match getting a shot at Bron Breakker’s NXT Championship.
It’s a big opportunity for Hayes who only came to NXT in June 2021 but has so far won the first Breakout tournament and won the North American Championship twice.
But Hayes has impressed WWE fans so much that many are calling for him to be moved to Raw or SmackDown.

Addressed exclusively to Digital Spy, Hayes described what it’s like to see fans wanting him to move from NXT to the main roster.
“It’s weird because I feel like I want people to like what I do,” Hayes said.
“I don’t want people trying to speed me up because it’s going to be there for me. It’s not going anywhere, the main roster. But it’s great that people are excited.
“People want to see some matchups with me and guys on the main roster and I want to too, believe me.
“If they said tomorrow, ‘Camelo, go to Raw, go to SmackDown,’ I would be ready. But I feel like I have unfinished business in NXT, which is the NXT Championship,” he said. he adds.
“Give me that title so I can prove everything I’ve been saying since last year is true. So I’m in no rush to get there, but if they call me tomorrow then that’s what what it is.”
