Riverdale season 6 spoilers follow.
Riverdale has released its first look at the seventh and final season, which is set to take place in the past.
The sixth-season finale saw Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) destroy the comet that focused on the town of Riverdale, but so the time shifted back to the 1950s.
As part of Weekly entertainment preview of the upcoming season, the first photo showed Toni (Vanessa Morgan), Cheryl, Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Veronica (Camila Mendes) locked in arms while wearing vintage dresses.

Series creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa also shared a preview of the upcoming season, posting a behind-the-scenes video to his Instagram account.
“In honor of @entertainmentweekly FIRST look at our FINAL season of #RIVERDALE, set in the 1950s, here’s a sneak peek at our beautiful first episode, coming soon!! We’re doing something really special this year” , he wrote in the caption, with the video showing a disc selected for a restaurant jukebox.
In an interview with the outlet, Aguirre-Sacasa teased elements of the latest batch of episodes, saying, “It’s more about our characters finding their way through the dark, constricting realities of the 1950s, trying to discover oneself in a truly repressive world, a conformist, homophobic, racist world.

“The biggest difficulty is that our characters are trying to live authentic individualistic lives in a time when that was really hard to do. This is probably, weirdly, our strongest season,” he concluded.
Petsch, who recently signed on for the remake of The foreignersechoed the lead writer’s thoughts, saying, “This season is more pared down with the madness, but there are some weird things happening.
“There’s one pretty big thing about my family life that’s weird and amazing. Other than that, this season is very grounded and relationship-oriented.”
Riverdale airs on The CW in the US and will end with Season 7 in 2023. In the UK, you can stream via Netflix.
