Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr ‘wish to sign Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante’ – who is set to become a free agent next summer… as they ‘look to add French international ET Cristiano Ronaldo” to their team

  • Saudi Al-Nassr team reportedly interested in N’Golo Kante
  • The France international is set to become a free agent in the summer window
  • Al-Nassr is keen to sign the midfielder despite his recent injury problems
  • They also hope to seal the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo in the coming days

Chelsea star N’Golo Kante has emerged as a potential transfer target for Saudi side Al-Nassr, according to reports.

The France international has struggled this year with injuries and is set to leave Stamford Bridge when his contract ends next summer.

A number of clubs have already made their interest in Kante known and it looks like the Saudi high-flyers are the first to sign him.

According to Foot Mercato, Al-Nassr is keen to add Kante to his squad when his contract expires at the end of the season.

The former Leicester City man has not played since mid-August and has yet to feature for a Graham Potter side since his appointment as manager.

However, that’s not enough to deter the Saudi side from chasing the World Cup and Premier League winner.

They are looking to add Kante and former Man United star Cristiano Ronaldo to their squad in the coming months.

It was only this week that Chelsea head coach Graham Potter confirmed that Kante would not be available for selection until late February or early March, as the midfielder recovers from surgery in the hamstrings.

The midfielder underwent hamstring surgery in October which ruled him out for four months.

‘It will be for a while, late February, early March,’ Potter said. “It was an operation, so it’s a minimum period of four months or so.

“I think my goal is to help him get back into shape as soon as possible, everyone knows the quality he has.”

Al-Nassr will have to work quickly if he wants to agree a deal for the Frenchman, with Barcelona also interested in the midfielder’s services.

The Catalan side see him as a viable option to help with their midfield issues and would cost next to nothing given he will become a free agent.

However, if the 31-year-old’s physical presence is limited by lingering injuries, it could prevent a potential move to Spain for the World Cup winner.
