The Southampton players looked in high spirits as they trained on Christmas Day ahead of their return to the Premier League.
Nathan Jones’ side entertain Brighton in a South Coast derby on Boxing Day as the former Luton Town boss looks to guide the Saints away from the relegation zone.
They currently sit 19th after winning three times all season, although they returned to action with a 2-1 win over Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup fourth round on Tuesday.

And on Christmas Day, several Southampton players wore festive outfits as they prepared for the clash against Roberto De Zerbi’s men.
Many of the squad, such as Brazilian centre-back Lyanco, wore Christmas jumpers, while goalkeeper Willy Caballero was put through his paces while sporting a reindeer-themed woolen hat.
Having only had two players at the World Cup in Armel Bella-Kotchap (Germany) and Mohammed Salisu (Ghana), Jones has had plenty of time on the training ground to work on implementing his style of Game.
The Saints boss looked in high spirits on Christmas Day as he appeared to laugh and smile with some of his players during their session at the club’s Staplewood campus.

The Welshman put his side to the test ahead of a Boxing Day clash with Brighton
Speaking ahead of the Boxing Day clash – which sees Jones return to a club he played and coached at – the Welshman highlighted the challenge facing Southampton.
He said: “They are a fantastic team. They are a real forward-thinking team which is difficult to play against.
“We’re going to have to do our best to get anything, but this is the test we want.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity and that’s why we came here. We’re building something and we need everyone’s buy-in, we need a little patience. It didn’t happen. built in a day.
“We are trying to build something and it is starting again now. It’s a different competition on Boxing Day and we’re going to go head-to-head.
