Thor Star Chris Hemsworth said he was terrified of his role in the madmax prequel, Furiosa.
The actor will star with Anya Taylor-Joy and Tom Burke for the fifth film in the George Miller franchise, which serves as the origin story for the character introduced in Mad Max: Fury Road.
Hemsworth, who played an undisclosed role in the film, revealed to the Happy Sad Confused podcast that he had first “scared” of his character.

“In the buildup, and I’m talking about a few years, I was scared out of my mind. I was like, ‘I’m going to derail one of the most iconic franchises.’ I will drop madmax. It will be my fault,” he said before explaining the process.
“A lot of times I get a script and I know from the first reading, the second reading, I know who the character is and I get some sort of instant visceral feeling attached to it,” he said. “Which I had read two years before I started filming and I was in awe of the script. It was the most beautiful thing I had read. I love George Miller, but I didn’t know who it was this character.
Hemsworth, who revealed “something clicked” two weeks before filming began, recently said he would be taking a career break due to a health issue discovered while filming his Disney+ docuseries. Unlimited.

After a series of tests, the actor discovered that he had two copies of the APOE4 gene, which increases his risk of being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.
“I want to sit down and be in this space with a greater sense of calm and gratitude. It really triggered something in me to want to take some time off,” he said. “Now when I’ll finish this tour this week, go home and have a good chunk of free time and just simplify.”
