Murder is good for business, apparently, because The White Lotus has already been renewed for a third season just weeks after the start of the show’s second run.
On November 19, 2022, the show’s creator, writer, and executive producer, Mike White, celebrated the news in an official statement:
“There’s no place I’d rather work than HBO and there’s no one I’d rather partner with than Casey Bloys, Francesca Orsi, Nora Skinner and their incredible team. I feel so lucky to to have this opportunity again and I am delighted to find my incredibly talented collaborators on The White Lotus.”

Orsi added: “Thinking about The White LotusFrom humble, run-and-gun origins to a contained pandemic production, it’s impossible not to be amazed at how Mike orchestrated one of the most hyped and critically acclaimed shows around.

Potential White Lotus Season 3 Release Date: When will The White Lotus Season 3 air?
The early renewal announcement ensures that production won’t be delayed too long, but we’ll still have to wait longer than we’d like judging by the release pattern of previous seasons.
The White Lotus debuted in July 2021, then season two started airing in late October 2022, which makes us think season three will likely arrive in early 2024, or maybe even sooner if Mike White gets down to business fast enough.

Assuming Tanya survives season two, Jennifer Coolidge seems like a safe bet for season three. Along with her sketchy husband Greg, played by Jon Gries, Tanya is the only main character to appear in both seasons so far.
But even if Tanya doesn’t make it out alive, that doesn’t mean Jennifer Coolidge couldn’t return in a new role, does it?
Talk to Deadline, creator Mike White said: “Jennifer is my friend and everyone loved her in the first season, and I was like, ‘I can’t go to Italy without Jennifer. And maybe it still is. Like, maybe you can’t go to Japan without Jennifer either. There are so many fun actors we’ve worked with so far, so it’s just kind of like who’s available.
But who else could join Coolidge in a third season? Technically, anyone who survives the first two seasons could reappear given that all of these different chapters take place in the same universe. If we are looking for new cast members, men’s health suggested that Jack Black and Laura Dern might be a perfect fit considering they’ve worked with Mike White before.
In fact, Dern even made a cameo in season two where she played Dom’s wife, Abby, on the phone, which might be the perfect way to bring her in.
White Lotus Season 3 Plot: What will happen in The White Lotus Season 3?

The first season got us all excited in Hawaii, and now the second season has ramped up that excitement with a Sicilian getaway that enjoys the male form instead, shall we say. So, what location might be a good fit for our next Season 3 sexcapade?
Talk to Deadline during the season two premiere of season two, creator Mike White said, “We just shot our last episode on the network yesterday, so it’s hard to think about the next run. But if we did, I think it would be fun to maybe go to a whole different continent. You know, we did Europe, and maybe Asia, something crazy like that, that would be fun.”
Beyond that, we can expect the usual power dynamics that shift around sex, class, and gender, as well as some old-fashioned goodness.
In an interview with EOMike White teased something more when he revealed what season two would look like before Sicily took over:
“Originally it was more like a Bilderberg conference, more to get into some of the biggest power dynamics there. But Sicily was a totally different vibe to the idea I pitched. didn’t seem right.”
That means we could see international executives from all over America and Europe going wild at a new White Lotus resort in season three. Assuming, of course, that White is still considering the idea after season two.
