The most successful underdog in FIFA World Cup history and the defending champion completed the semi-final field in Qatar with victories on Saturday.
Morocco managed another surprise by eliminating Portugal 1-0. The Atlas Lions now have clean sheets against Portugal, Spain, Croatia and Belgium in the World Cup.
The first African team to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup will face France on Wednesday after the French took care of England 2-1.
France and Croatia are both back in the last four, as in 2018 with England and Belgium.
The France-Morocco winner will face the Croatia-Argentina winner in the final on December 17.
Morocco 1, Portugal 0
Morocco continued their remarkable run in Qatar playing exactly the same way they have throughout the tournament.
The Atlas Lions made another incredible defensive move and capitalized on a mistake to finish off Portugal.
Morocco had 27% possession and conceded 12 shots to Portugal, only three of them on goal.
But Portugal were ineffective with their chances, even when Cristiano Ronaldo came on in the 51st minute.
Morocco scored the game’s only goal in the 42nd minute, when Youssef En-Nesyri pounced on everyone in the box and scored from a header.

Portugal failed to do much with their chances in the final third. Ronaldo had a chance in the 91st minute, but that shot went straight for Yassine Bounou in the net.

France 2, England 1
France took the lead in the first half thanks to a superb strike from Aurélien Tchouameni.

The Real Madrid midfielder nailed the long-range shot perfectly into the bottom left corner past a diving Jordan Pickford.
England did not respond until the 54th minute. Harry Kane scored a penalty into the left side of the net after Bukayo Saka was fouled in the box.
France responded to this goal by Olivier Giroud in the 78th minute. Giroud connected with a cross from Antoine Griezmann to beat Pickford.

Griezmann produced an assist on both French goals. He also got an assist in the quarter-finals and semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup.
England had a golden chance to equalize again in the 84th minute when Mason Mount was brought in by Theo Hernandez.
Kane couldn’t recreate the same penalty magic, as his shot soared above the goal.

England were unable to produce another opportunity as opportunistic as the second penalty in the closing stages of the second half.
France is again qualified for the semi-finals of the World Cup. Only Morocco stands in the way of the Blues’ chance of becoming World Cup winners again.
