Zorro’s Antonio Banderas Wants Spider-Man Star To Take Over In Future Reboot

Antonio Banderas said he wanted Spider Man star Tom Holland will take over as Zorro in a future reboot.

With the role of the titular Zorro in the years 1998 The Mask of Zorro and its 2005 sequel The Legend of ZorroBanderas said he would like the Marvel star to reprise the role after starring with him in Unexplored.

“Tom Holland, I made Unexplored with him and he’s so energetic and fun and he’s got that spark too. Why not?” Banderas said in an interview with ComicBook.com.

Stating that he would consider reprising the role of Zorro one last time, the Puss in Boots The actor said he would only do so to pass the mask on to its new wearer, as Anthony Hopkins’ Don Diego de la Vega did in the first film.

” Yes, I will do it. I would consider this possibility. Why not ? he said. “I think during the interviews today I said something like that to someone…I said if they called him Zorro I would do what Anthony Hopkins did in the first film and so I will pass the torch to someone else.”

Earlier this year, Banderas opened up about his comeback as Zorro recounted USA today how Quentin Tarantino approached him in 2020 about a possible Django and Zorro crossover film.

“He just walked up to me and I was like, ‘In your hands? Yeah, man!’ Because Quentin just has that nature to make those kinds of movies and give them quality,” Banderas revealed.

“We’ve never worked together, but it would be great because of him, because of Jamie Foxx and because of [playing] Zorro again when he’s a bit older. It would be fantastic, funny and crazy.”

Fans of swashbuckling adventures starring Banderas won’t have long to wait as the sequel to Puss in Bootsentitled the last wish should be out this Christmas.
